This profession is a lifelong journey of learning: new challenges, new technologies and developments to incorporate into my approach in helping patients. Each patient brings unique challenges and unique goals. Helping someone achieve their independence and live a more functional life is rewarding, yet the thing I love the most is working with children. Being able to be a part of their growth and development, seeing them doing things that they always KNEW they could and in some cases surprising everyone by doing what no one thought they could!

Shubert Chang CPO
Shubert Chang, CPO was widely recognized as an innovator in pediatric orthotics and prosthetics. Shubert understood the growth and development of children and thus the intricate detail needed to fabricate custom designed devices for children that were strong and flexible enough to suit the demands of active children. Although Chang made a name for himself as a leading provider of prosthetics and orthotics for the pediatric population, he also served adults, especially those requiring prosthetics. Shubert was an amputee himself since the age of 15 due to a motorcycle accident. Although traumatic, this life changing experience became the catalyst for Shubert’s caring sensitivity and empathy for the patients and clients he served. He understood that the need for an orthotic or prosthetic device was not the defining factor in an individual’s ability to have an active life. He lived this by being involved in many athletic pursuits ranging from racquetball and mountain biking to racing motor sports. After meeting his wife, Melisa Chang, a physical therapist and also an amputee, their combined talents and passion for helping others led them to open Dynamic Orthopedics, Inc. in 2002. His legacy of excellence in every aspect of patient care is continued as Dynamic Orthopedics, Inc. is recognized as the established provider of premium prosthetic and orthotic services for southeast Florida’s children and adults.
Shubert’s Kids was started by Melisa Chang to honor the work of her late husband and directly assist children in getting the devices that can change their lives.
