A 'Dynamic' Foundation
MELISA CHANG
CO-FOUNDER
Melisa started with her interest in patient care as a Physical Therapist. The compassion and excellence that she provided in rehabilitation is the same with which she started the business. From the design of the office to create a welcoming environment, the training of the staff to building relationships with patients, families and referral sources and the concept development of ideas are some of the ways Ms. Chang has contributed to the success of Dynamic Orthopedics.
In 2002, Melisa Chang and Shubert Chang, CPO, started Dynamic Orthopedics, Inc. As a co-founder, she was consistently involved in the development of the company from its inception, however, in 2015, Melisa continued the company as the sole owner while growing and expanding the scope of services.
She has not only continued with Dynamic Orthopedics, but initially after she was widowed, she took donations given in Shubert’s name to start “Shubert’s Kids”; a nonprofit that provided support to children in desperate need of orthotic and prosthetic devices but unable to afford them.
In December 2017, Melisa Chang was instrumental in the inception of a wheelchair basketball team for kids now known as the Joe DiMaggio Sharks under the non-profit of The Fort Lauderdale Sharks.
SHUBERT CHANG, CPO
IN MEMORY OF OUR CO-FOUNDER
Shubert Chang, CPO was widely recognized as an innovator in pediatric orthotics and prosthetics.
Shubert understood the growth and development of children and thus the intricate detail needed to fabricate custom designed devices for children that were strong and flexible enough to suit the demands of active children. Although Chang made a name for himself as a leading provider of prosthetics and orthotics for the pediatric population, he also served adults, especially those requiring prosthetics.
Shubert was an amputee himself since the age of 15 due to a motorcycle accident. Although traumatic, this life changing experience became the catalyst for Shubert’s caring sensitivity and empathy for the patients and clients he served.
He understood that the need for an orthotic or prosthetic device could be the defining factor in an individual’s ability to have an active life. He lived this by being involved in many athletic pursuits ranging from mountain biking to motor sport racing.
His legacy of excellence continues as Dynamic Orthopedics, Inc. is recognized as the established provider of premium prosthetic and orthotic services for southeast Florida’s children and adults.
